Custom Wet Bar
One of our
recent customers wanted to remove part of a basement wall and install
a wet bar.
This was a great project with lots of custom touches!

Martin Yanik, owner of CCB, is shown here completing the tear down
of the existing wall.
|

Let the framing begin!
|

The main support for the bar is in place.
|

With the bar frame done, Mr Yanik sizes up the bar top to ensure
the dimensions are correct based on the customer's requirements.
|

Framing and drywall done!
|
The
customer wanted to save money on the bar top, so 12x12 black granite
squares were used, along with a tumbled marble backsplash. The price
was approximately 75% less than using
a one-piece granite counter top and still looks great!
|
Finished! Note the working beer tap and bar sink. The customer
wanted to have cool, refreshing beer on game day so a complete
tap system (C02, tubing, etc) was installed behind
the bar and is easily accessible. The sink uses a custom sump
system which required NO digging or breaking of the concrete basement
floor. The cost of this drain system is surprisingly low, it's
very reliable, and the non-destructive installation saved days
of work.
|

Note the custom red-oak bar rail. This is called a "Chicago
Bar Rail". Once cut and mounted in place, it was hand rubbed
with Danish teak oil and then polyurethane was applied. This technique
takes a little longer, but the end result speaks for itself.

Integrated Window
Seat and Moldings
This customer
wanted a window seat built when their home was constructed, but the contractor
could not do it. So CCB to the rescue! The window seat is frame and panel
construction that matches the style of cabinets in the kitchen. Two storage
compartments are accessible from the hinged lids on the top of the seat.
This crown molding was the finishing touch to compliment the window seat.
The stain was color matched to the customer's existing cabinets. The crown
was prefinished in our shop and installed with minimal disruption in the
client's home.

Custom Railing
This customer just
moved into a new split level home. The old wrought iron railings (some still visible
on the stairs) were not tall enough for their rambunctious two year old. The old
railings were removed and new, solid maple railings and balusters and newel posts
installed. At CCB, we work with you on any stage of your project: here the customer
chose to save some money by staining and finishing the railings themselves.
